I'm not so sure our species deserves to survive. As you point out we seem utterly helpless to help ourselves. Our so called leaders create a false narrative while they continue to line their pockets. Their only concern is the economy, everything else be damned.
Americans value guns much more than human life, it's a pathetic reality.
I don't doubt it, but I had to wonder where they got the hard data. They didn't. This note was on the site:

*It bears mentioning that Lynn's studies, while comprehensive, tend to spark considerable debate. Some researchers dispute the techniques Lynn employs to calculate estimates when hard data is lacking. Others claim Lynn, an unabashed eugenicist, misinterprets his data to support conclusions that are both scientifically inaccurate and supportive of white supremacy.

Just wondering where they came up with everyone's IQ score to figure the average per country. Regardless, the U.S. is getting dumber.
I never thought we'd have a president who could get by saying "Just grab them by the pussy" either. Or one who would disparage a gold star family or make fun of a disabled reporter. I thought we were above all that. Now it seems more like, how low can we go?
High school counselors don't even give lip service to trades. On counseling nights for parents the presenters gush over the UC system (the most expensive option), talk a bit about the state college system and as a aside mention junior colleges. Trades, forget it. Not worthy of mention, coupled with the fact that most shop programs have been gutted. All this serves to make students interested in a trade as a profession underserved second class citizens. Everyone is aimed at a college degree despite the fact that only four in ten Americans ever earn a bachelor's degree. Our educational system is not serving the nation.

Informative as usual. Thanks! I really enjoyed a previous article where you explained the six levels of autonomous vehicles.
Something I've been feeling for a while now, a sense that the population of the U.S. is going backward intellectually. We are a world leader in name only. At one time I would have expected the U.S. to take the lead in dealing with a global problem, not anymore.
