All our decision making is left to pursuit of profit. It's a powerful motivator, but what happens when the tasks needed to sustain the planet are not profitable? Nothing happens. Nothing happens unless there is profit to be made.

So we race headlong into electrifying everything, because maybe we can keep the gravy train rolling with EV's. Doesn't matter that we have a aging power grid. Doesn't matter that renewables are not an adequate replacement for fossil fuels. It only matters that there is profit in this direction.
