Commercial agriculture is totally on fossil fuel based fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides and insecticides. Our population is far too big to be supported by traditional farming methods. Even our seed stock has been genetically altered to thrive in with adequate fertilizer without which they would die.

At some point we have to admit that our population has grown far too large to naturally support without the addition of fossil fuel amendments.
