Developed countries are actually seeing fertility rates closer to 2.1, but you are quite right that the underdeveloped countries have the higher birth rates. It would be ironic since business and government fail to take any steps to fight climate change if the people of the world banded together to lower the population. A total pipe dream but a pleasant thought.
