Do you live in a country with free health care? With free higher education? Does your country have a solid safety net to help people in need and to help people get back to work?

Those are all things I vote for, am I voting for personal gain?

In the U.S. you don't have to vote for Biden or Trump. You may write in whom ever you choose or throw you vote away on a 3rd party candidate like perpetual candidate Jill Stein who gets less than 2 percent of the vote. She won't even beat "worm brain" Kennedy.

Ever since I voted for President Obama both times, I've used my vote as a hedge AGAINST the most despicable candidate. I don't care much for Biden, but I despise Donald Trump. Should I burn my vote out of principle and hope like hell Trump loses anyway? Sorry, I'm not doing that.

I always wonder where is the young blood? But you have to be filthy rich to run for president in the U.S. By the time these guys become filthy rich they are pretty much lost to the average voter because they are already part of the elite.
