Eight billion people is not sustainable. We use far more resources than the Earth can replenish. A shrinking population is a good thing. What we need is a new economic paradigm. Capitalism is suited for continued growth and expansion. But we no longer need continued growth and expansion. Shrinking the population through attrition we help bring the planet back into balance. Fewer humans, less consumption, fewer emissions, far less pressure on our resources. I just wonder if it will be too little too late.

Humans often refer to themselves as an intelligent species. What intelligent species poisons their own environment and then seems helpless to do anything about it? We have saturated our world with plastics. Microplastics are in everything. What do we do? Why what else, we increase plastic production every year.
