Eliminate the loopholes. Tax is the only way to balance out of control inequality. Households in the top 5% percentage share of aggregate income have increased by 3.2% annually from 1981 to 1990—a gain of 28.8% over nine years. From 1991 to 2000, the average income of the top 5% of households continued to grow at an average rate of 4.1% another 36.9%, compared with 2.7% for families in the highest quintile overall, and about 1% for everyone else.
A 10% tax will only make this worse.
