Everyone benefits from inspiration and motivation. The flip side is the angry screamer, that was our superintendent. Jeff was the polar opposite. He excelled in positive motivation. His motto was praise in public, discipline in private for both teachers and students. He excelled in positive motivation and he was completely sincere. For years I worked for the angry screamer, my dad. When I got out from under that working relationship I flourished even with mediocre principals, because at least they were not negative ogres. They could show their appreciation for my effort. But with Jeff I blossomed, I felt like super teacher. I believe a poor principal can put a damper on an entire school, especially the district office clone. The principal who always have to check with the district office to make any decision. Worst of all is the angry, district office clone. During my career I had one exceptional principal out of six.
