I believe we need a new economic paradigm. Capitalism depends on continued growth and expansion. For the most part it served us well during the 20th century. But what if the health of our very environment that sustains life demands that we stop growing and scale back a bit? Capitalism does not work for that. Existing retirement and support for the elderly no longer works, so we need system, a new way to move forward.

I agree people will not have a choice. But do you really see our form of government making any changes in the status quo? Even if one party became enlightened and took the correct steps (whatever those steps might be) the other party would campaign against the changes and undo everything when they returned to power. We need worldwide cooperation when we can't even achieve national cooperation.

Say Trump wins the next election. What would be instore for our nation. 1. Tax cuts for the wealthy. 2. Cutbacks to social programs. 3. Rescinding environmental regulation just lie he did the previous term. 4. Resumed oil drilling and fracking.

I'm beginning to wonder if the Republican war on women's bodies and reproduction rights is really an effort to disguise the economic panic over the lower fertility rates. Maybe the next step for those tiny frozen embryos is forced implantations to restore the shrinking workforce.
