I don't believe the Trump administration or any other administration is serious about stopping illegal workers from entering into the US. Our government is too sensitive to the needs of big business. There is a simple solution: If a business hires undocumented workers, they get one warning. The second infraction the business assets are seized and sold at auction. Simple, effective and after one or two seizure/auctions most illegal hiring would stop. Instead we round up undocumented workers and deport them over and over again. Their vacant positions are filled the very next day by another crew of undocumented workers.

Undocumented workers flock to the US in search of opportunity. If it became impossible to get hired, they would stop coming. But business depends on the cheap labor and business interests direct our government.

The wall is and always was a political tool invented by Trump. As long as opportunity exists for a better life in the US, the wall is just one more hurtle. Perhaps we should ban ladders, saws and shovels.
