I have some ideas for doing things differently. Number one is to end the practice of planned obsolescence. We have too many appliance brands that compete on cosmetic issues while the innards are more expensive to repair. We need a few models of each appliance type with easy-to-access modular replacement parts. An appliance should last for decades, rather than choking our landfills after four or five years.
