I suppose I'm old enough to lament the loss of broadcast media that focused more on the informing the rather than pushing opinion. I appreciate opinion, just prefer it labeled as such. I think outfits like Fox News have gone way too far in pushing their opinion, to the point they have a role in dividing the nation.

I'm retired so I have the time and luxury to read widely to attempt to see the big picture. I think many people get sucked into single source rabbit holes because they don’t have the time and inclination to look around. Social Media will funnel exactly what you want to hear. So perhaps some one finds their comfort zone on Fox News and Facebook and unwittingly get trapped in an echo chamber of their own making.

When a major event like the January 6th Hearings come along, they receive a tailored message that isolates them from the facts (there are facts) and the compelling arguments that could change minds are never heard.

Thanks for the thoughtful comment. BTW…I often write long comments, but I am writing this first in MS Word. Have you experienced writing a long comment then hit a key and poof the comment is gone, and the page is blank and the Medium connection is lost? Drives me crazy. It’s happened on my Windows machine, Linux and on my laptop so I don’t think it’s a problem at my end. Just curious. It never happens on the usual short comment.
