I taught for for 20 years and I never had an administrator like Sloan. I taught for one year after he left to reach 55. The downhill slide began immediately. Of course we had all been rung through the wringer by the district office and superintendent by then.

The superintendent actually threatened the student government teacher, Lisa Reynolds and me with consequences if we would not back down. We had to get a union attorney involved to get him to back off.

Several times now I have seen great people axed by horrible bosses and the superintendent was as horrible as you can get. He was so jealous of Jeff's popularity with students and their parents.

Superintendent Brown reminded me a lot of Donald Trump, bluster and anger, no substance, no wisdom.

If I was in charge, all CUSD new hire principals would be required to intern with Jeff for a year. I'd give him a bonus and put him in charge of all principal oversight for the entire district.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
