I taught myself Python as well and there are plenty of online resources. I discovered Python while pursuing an invention. I've had a idea for an outdoor game console for a long time. I learned Python to see if I could develop the coding to get one step closer to a prototype. I'm retired, so I had no need for Python for work, but it sure makes a great pass-time. Here's a story I wrote about my pursuit of an outdoor gaming console to bring accurate measurement and lots of bells and whistles to the game of backyard touch football. This console facilitates play on a small field by measuring and calculating all game details from a stationary line of scrimmage.
