I thought the country was founded on the concept of religious freedom, the freedom to practice whatever your beliefs without fear of persecution from the government. Many immigrants came to the U.S. fleeing the persecution of the Church of England. Now hundreds of years later some Christians in the U.S. would like to enshrine their faith as the one and only and us it as a hammer to beat everyone else into submission.

It's always useful to put the shoe on the other foot. How would Christians feel if Islam was the majority religion and attempted to codify their faith into the laws of the U.S. Grapple with that for a bit and you understand how the rest of us feel about Christian Nationalism.
