I tire of the posts recommending that you quit your 9-5 and become a creator. Now I block them on sight. Before the internet, very few fancied themselves writers or creators. I doubt the size of the pool of real writers and creators has changed all that much.

I enjoy writing and commenting as a means of expression, but I'd never seriously consider myself a writer. I just like to interact with people and Medium is a good place to do that. I like to share personal stories--but make money, forget it.

One of the joys of getting older is that I no longer feel pressed to monetize everything. I like to code old board game in the Python computer language, but I don't fancy myself a programmer.

Here's one of my last attempts to monetize and invention. Wisely I kept my 9-5. Inventing is fun, marketing sucks.
