I was a public school teacher for 20 years. I used to firmly believe that I could create lessons with a level of interest that would decrease discipline problems in the classroom. Over the years I ran into many kids who simply did not care what I prepared, their goal was disruption. My son teaches middle school math--some of his kids sole goal is disruption.

We definitely need an option to get them out of the classroom, a military school option sounds terrific. Sending them home to often dysfunctional parents should not an option. They need to know that there are true and lasting consequences for there unruly behavior.

Once upon a time parents put the fear of god into kids to insure their classroom behavior now they are very likely the enabler of poor behavior.
