If you take a peek at reelection rates over the last 50 years from the chart linked below, you'll see we reelect the same House members about 90 percent of the time and the same Senators about 85 percent of the time. We keep electing the same people year after year, how can we expect any change? These people are not the least bit responsive to anyone but the wealthy. But watch, we will reelect the same people in 2022. We've been trying to get rid of Doug LaMalfa for years. As ridiculous as it seems, name recognition returns more incumbents to office than any other factor.
