I'm 71, I retired at 55. I retired from a very meaningful job as a middle school teacher. I'm sure I'd be dead if all I had to look forward to each day was TV. Instead, I did many things I never had time for before. I remodeled our small home. In addition I built a detached 25 x 35 game room/entertainment space for our large extended family. I built a food truck with my son and ran it with him until be decided to go back to school for a teaching credential in math. I refurbished our detached garage and turned it into an apartment. I bought an old Airstream. I remodeled the inside and polished the outside. During COVID I helped my son remodel a home that had extensive water damage.
The closest I’ve come to turning on network TV was recovering from knee replacement surgery and then I made do with Netflix. I have not watched any broadcast news since we tossed the TV when our kids were in grade school.
There’s lots of life after retirement, you can embrace it or sit down in front of the TV and die.
