In the US war is big business and good for the economy. That's why our government was happy to end the draft--no more protests. Can you imagine the protests across US campuses over the last 20 years in Afghanistan if we still had the draft. No skin in the game, no protest. Without protest we can have constant war and the military industrial complex profits big time. War is Americas growth engine.
