It often comes down to initial cost. EVs appear to be cheaper to operate and maintain, but the initial cost is significantly higher. It's difficult to find initial cost comparisons, but on average, EVs appear to be about $20,000 higher, but that 2019 data. I'd like to know if that gap has closed significantly. EVs appeal, but I'd appreciate real savings, rather than savings making up for the initial cost over time.
