It's become an interesting hobby. Games present real coding challenges--all presented in the rules and the gameboard. I read on Quora all the time about people wanting to get better at coding. This is a fun way to challenge yourself.

To me, it's way more fun coding the games than playing them. Although I find myself occasionally playing Solitaire, Blackjack, or my lightening-fast version of Sorry which is a lot more fun the the analog version--sorry Hasbro.
