It's called hopelessness. The state of the U.S. is a shambles. Nobody believes that the government officials are in it for anyone but themselves. Between the corporate world and government greed has run amok.

Why would anyone choose to bring a child into this world? There's no hope of ever owning a home for the average family. It's guaranteed that both parents will have to work and scrape to get by. If they have kids childcare expanses will dilute their income.
