I’ve often thought that America’s most horrific export is our nasty fast food. Next comes our empty calorie snack foods and sodas. What a great food culture you have grown up in. I’ve often thought the best world tour would be a tour of world wide basic culinary traditions. Several have survived from our Polish side of the family: golumpki — a meat and rice filled cabbage roll, pierogi, little dumplings filled with sharp cheddar cheese mashed potatoes, boiled then fried in butter and an Easter bread called babka. And I always will remember my German grandma’s dinners on Sundays, great pot roasts, that always seemed enough for everyone who showed up. And her pies and cinnamon rolls.
