I've wondered about that. I was playing a pickup volleyball game with friends on the Chico State University campus. Set up nearby was a group of Asians, who turned out to be a group of touring South Korean teachers. We introduced ourselves and mixed up the teams. Curious about my fellow teachers, I asked them over for dinner. I grilled a whole salmon and served my favorite locally grown Lundberg's wild rice. They never touched the rice and I figured I committed a cultural gaffe. It was a memorable evening none the less.
