Many can't fathom that the Earth could possible run out of resources or that humans could have an impact on our environment.

Same with the folks that folks who can't understand the need to scale down our population to avoid resource overshoot.

Why is that hard to understand? There has to be a tipping point if not 8 billion, 16 billion, 32 billion. Just 72 years ago when I was born the Earth's population was 2.5 billion. Everything seemed to function just fine with a smaller population.

But humanity is enslaved by capitalism and capitalism demands growth and expansion--the last thing we need, but the one thing we will certainly get.
