Name-calling aside, we agree on your three main points.
1. We have built a consensus that recognizes the threat of climate change.
2. The US is an obstacle to action. We lack quality leadership. We are wedded to capitalism. Capitalism demands constant growth, overconsumption, and ever-expanding markets. Part of the success of capitalism is consumerism. Americans are extravagant consumers. Americans buy and discard at an alarming rate. Americans use much more of their share of everything and are too selfish to give that up.
3. We need a powerful coalition of nations to lead the charge.

Ultimately, we need to empower the UN to take charge worldwide and implement the changes necessary to ensure our survival. But the US will never submit to that.
