Thank you. You draw a very clear and accurate distinction between Evangelical Christians and Religious Nationalists. Unfortunately I believe that such a distinction is lost to very many Evangelical Christians (as they believe themselves to be).

Before Trump, I would have said that I perceive Christianity as a positive influence in the world, as far as my understanding of the teachings of Jesus. His values have always made perfect sense to me.

But after seeing so many professing Christians fawn after a man much more like the antiChrist than Jesus. Then to vote for him a second time. I can't count the number of times I've asked myself and others, how can Christians support him, he is the antithesis of what they believe.

My wife is a Christian, she has no trouble seeing Trump for exactly who he is. Yet so many leaders professing to be of the Christian faith have proclaimed him to be chosen of God. Trump has drained Christianity of all credibility.

Thanks for the thoughtful clarification. I hope it is widely read. But most likely it will fall on deaf ears.
