Thankfully not everyone agrees with you. Policy aside, Donald Trump is a disgusting individual. Not by any media conspiracy (don’t forget the very same media Trump condemns as fake news, lavished $2 billion in free publicity on their boy), Trump is condemned by his own words, in print, recorded on media, listening to him live. It’s a fact that he makes fun of the retarded. You can watch the video clips, watch him mimic a disabled reporter, watch him order a handicapped boy out of his rally. You can watch him encourage violence against protesters. His record with women is atrocious, again lots of evidence. He’s condemned an entire people as terrorists. Just read his Twitter feed, it’s disgusting. He persisted in his ridiculous birther campaign.
Which brings be to another point. Conservatives say that he’s our president now, we have to get behind him for the good of the country. I agree with, but where was that sentiment for the past eight years. From day one the GOP was determined to thwart president Obama’s every move. Where was the “for the good of the country” then?
Conservatives don’t like being branded a sexist, a racist and a bigot, but what do you expect when you give your unqualified support to a man who represents all of those things. Never do I hear something like I find the man repugnant, but we really need to shake things up in Washington. That I could understand.
Some of Trump’s ideas are good. I’d like to see term limits for congress to get rid of life-long legislators. I like those very same folks barred from lobbying in Washington. I think we need to take a hard look at our cyber security to protect our sensitive infrastructure. But rebuild our military? We already spend more than the next ten largest militaries COMBINED. Tax cuts? Who does not want a tax cut? But the average guy got peanuts, the lion’s share went to corporations and to the rich. Tax cuts aimed primarily at the rich do not stimulate the economy. This is the very same trickle-down policy that our government has pursued since 1980. But look at the deficit, just shy of a trillion dollars for 2019.
And if you happen to care about the environment, Trump is busy rolling back one environmental protection after another. As of the end of 2019, Trump has rolled back 58 environmental regs and is in the process of canning 37 more in 2020.
And of course there are the lies, 5276 according to the Toronto Star, all document right here: https://projects.thestar.com/donald-trump-fact-check/
