The changes necessary to stop the assault on our environment will not come voluntarily. We need broad immediate action that will disrupt our way of life. No half measures will do. These measures will have to be imposed upon us with a heavy hand. The resistance to the mask mandate shows how pitifully weak and selfish we are, but it will pale in comparison to the personal sacrifices needed confront our global climate problem. We have a great many whiners and complainers who will not fare well. When we reach an obvious tipping point, fear will motivate, but by then it will be far too late.
