The disconnect is between the reality of the drought (far less than normal rainfall and snowpack) is a measurable fact and people's behavior as if nothing has changed.

I took out my lawns front and back four years ago. Most people are still watering their lawns. Lawns drink up far more water than a household. Lawns are an inherited English tradition, but Great Britan is a moist island, not an arid desert like the south western U.S.

Look at climate change. How many people are making the voluntary sacrifices? No enough to change anything.

We need mandatory restrictions to curb selfish behavior. But or representatives are weak, their only concern is reelection.

So we are in a drought, but nobody cares.
