The fact that there is a COP26 is an admission of failure. It's the environment vs. greed, profit, business as usual and capitalism's insistent demand for ever-growing expansion and growth. Take a look at a chart of energy usage over history, our overall demand for energy is growing at a faster pace than new installations of green energy.

Global energy use has quadrupled since 1950 and green energy is only a small fraction of that. We will need to increase green energy by a factor of 150 to move transportation from fuel to electricity.
