There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's a great program. Unless you listen to the likes on Mitch McConnell who incorrectly view SS as a contributor to the deficit and want to abolish the program. If I was younger I would not be happy about sacrificing 12.4 percent of my income to a program that Congress wants to kill. There are easy ways to restore the SS program to full health. Do you hear anyone in Congress talking about that? Most young people you talk to do not believe SS with be available to them when they reach retirement age, yet they passively sacrifice their income to fund my retirement. All I can say to that is thanks. I'm well aware that SS is not a saving program, but are you happy to give up a big chunk of your income in exchange for nothing in the future.
