We decided reading, family interaction and homework were more important than TV. My five kids all did fine in school, no one grew up stunted or deprived from lack of TV. As a teacher I remember many parents who could not even turn off the TV long enough for their kids to concentrate on a reading assignment or complete a little homework. It’s a powerful distraction. Everyone is free to deal with it as they see fit.
