We need a new economic paradigm. Capitalism demands constant growth. The government of Japan (the hardest hit by a shrinking population) is already instigating incentives for people to have at least three kids. Degrowth and capitalism do not mix. Capitalism demands a growing stream of new customers and capitalism is the tail that wags the dog.
