"Why aren’t police shooting these people?"

My thoughts exactly. Peaceful demonstrations are fine, storming the capital, no way. One report said some were armed. Demonstrators and protesters are fine, but not armed demonstrators. This happened not too long ago on the state house steps in Michigan. Armed protesters should be given one warning, surrender your arms now, or be shot. Freedom of speech does not include brandishing firearms to threaten or coerce. Peaceful transition of power was a hallmark of our once great democracy. We just joined the ranks of the 3rd world nations.
