Your comments make good sense. But everyone needs to know the rules of the game starting out. Some people will never save. The philosophy in place during my working year was the concept of the three-legged stool: Personal savings, Social Security and pensions. Everyone plays the hand they are dealt by the rules in place at the time. As the working population shrinks serious changes need to be made to meet future challenges. Do you see anyone in our government doing jack-shit about the retirement of the average worker? Or even the plight of the average worker in light of AI and robotics taking jobs? Or off-shoring jobs to low wage countries?

All I saying is that the rules of the game need to be spelled out so intelligent folks know what to do.
